Operating out of Sheffield, they have actively saved several historic local tool brands from extinction, purchasing and preserving the manufacturing rights to famous legacy names like Pax, Lynx and Dorchester, as well as the revered Clifton Hand Planes.
The Verdict: Thomas Flinn is a true guardian of Sheffield’s world-renowned metallurgical history. They completely reject the modern trend of disposable, hard-point saws that cannot be sharpened. Instead, they construct proper, heirloom-quality handsaws using world-renowned Sheffield alloy spring steel, featuring taper-ground blades to prevent binding, solid folded brass backs and traditional handles crafted from walnut and stained beech.
